The Return of the 750s

The Bikers’ Classics will be honouring the 750cc class that saw its last World Champion, Frenchman Patrick Pons, thirty years ago.

Since its birth six years ago, “The Biker’s Classics festival has become the one “must-do” event for classic motorcycle fans throughout the world.
In 2009, the 19th, 20th and 21st June will see some of the greatest champions from the biking world, and their magnificent classic machines, in action on the awe inspiring Spa-Francorchamps Grand Prix circuit.

Backing up the biking superstars will be hundreds of Europe’s top classic race enthusiasts in three days of all action track parades ridden in tribute to the great champions of the past.
This year, the whole paddock will be raising a special cheer to celebrate the career of the Swiss campionissimo, Luigi Taveri.

At every Bikers’ Classics the immaculate Spa paddock echoes to the howl of MV Agustas and the snarl and crackle of battle hungry Manx Nortons and Matchless G.50s. But this year the soul stirring scream of mighty 750cc two-strokes will tear through the Ardennes countryside because 2009 is: “The Year of the 750s.”

The Bikers’ Classics will be honouring the 750cc class that saw its last World Champion, Frenchman Patrick Pons, thirty years ago.

The Bikers’ Classics presents a unique – a truly unique - opportunity to see the Yamaha TZ750 two-strokes, the booming Ducati Desmos, the mighty Nortons and terrifying Suzuki triples in all their glory - on a real Grand Prix circuit and ridden by the men who made them into the legends that they are. These are the iconic bikes that held the crowds of Daytona spellbound - and got the cheering fans to their feet at the Imola 200 and the Anglo-American Match Races.

From these tyre smoking, wheelie popping monsters came modern Superbike racing which fans today enjoy with the same enthusiasm as their Dads did 30 years ago.

Fantastic bikes, friendly riders and the chance to get up close to biking legends can mean only one thing: The Bikers’ Classics. Join us in June.
