Change to the programme for our Spanish Week
Goodbye Barcelona, hello Alcarràs.
Due to reasons beyond our control and so as to still offer you the best deal possible, we have been forced to slightly change our next Spanish Week.
We would like to ensure you that you will not lose out because of the change – on the contrary!
As the Spanish management can no longer guarantee the dates agreed with us, we have had to skip the Barcelona circuit that we had initially planned to visit on 5 and 6 March. We have therefore decided to couple together the Valencia circuit, reserved for you on 9 and 10 March, with the Alcarràs circuit on the 12 and 13 March. A week which will be very busy and which will give you the opportunity to discover a brand new track.
Open for just two years, the Alcarràs circuit has only really been operational for the last season during which it held the qualifiers for the Spanish speed and endurance championships.
The track is 3743 metres long and winds around the sides of a small hill with an overall gradient of 9%, which the promoters exploit to the maximum. In fact, the whole climbing part is also the most winding so the speed of the following kilometres depends on taking the right lines during this part. Despite the 14 bends, ten of which are left-handed, there is however an 800 metre straight where the bikes can give their all. To date, the best recorded time is 1.41'567, which is a maximum speed of 132.669kph.
This modern track, which is 15 metres wide for easy overtaking, has in addition to its medical centre and a welcoming cafeteria, large pits, each one with its own shower and WC.
Situated close to the AP 2 motorway (Barcelona - Zaragoza) and the town of Lleida (12 km) where you will find a large number of hotels with various rates, Alcarràs is about a hundred kilometres from Reus airport and 175km from Barcelona airport. Both destinations are served by a number of daily flights from low-cost airlines such as Vueling and Ryanair.
We are convinced that, just like previous years, this Fiesta Iberica will provide you with excellent biking, especially with the discovery of the new Alcarràs circuit (www.circuitalcarras.cat), which has been given unanimous thumbs up by everyone who has ridden it.
